It may seem indulgent or intimidating having a makeup lesson but let me tell you it really isn’t – it’s a lot of fun and the smartest thing you can probably do for yourself to save time, money and face!
Here’s why;

Making your makeup $$’s go further

Cosmetic counter staff are qualified to apply makeup but are trained first and foremost to sell products with sales targets in mind, not necessarily in the customer’s best interest. Same goes for the so called “makeup influencers” on social media who heavily promote makeup trends and products which are driven by sponsorship deals, commissions and free endorsement products for their video clicks and likes. This doesn’t necessarily lead to the most cost-effective way to create the perfect makeup kit for you.
By comparison, as a professional makeup artist who is brand-agnostic I will work with you to maximise the makeup investments you’ve already made or recommend suitable products specifically to your skin tone, skin type, age and budget. Also, by having me come to your home provides a far more enjoyable and conducive atmosphere to learn, tips, tricks and techniques at your own pace, allowing you to confidently learn by “doing” rather than just watching or having it done to you.

A makeup lesson ‘unique’ as your own face

Learning how to flatter our own uniqueness takes some skill and a little know-how, so having a tailored made makeup lesson with me who knows to ask questions, listens to your answers and offers useful and enlightening advice along with makeup techniques to benefit your style and tastes, will give you great certainty your time, effort and dollars are well spent.

Teaching them early on in having a simple skincare routine will help them during the challenging phase of puberty and create good habits into adulthood.

When it comes to them wearing makeup, fresh & natural is the way to go. I recommend for tweens (10-12yrs) a clear or tinted lip gloss and lightly applied mascara (which also comes as a clear gel). As they move into the next age group these makeup tips still apply but perhaps a tinted moisturizer or BB cream is needed to help even out skin tone and slight imperfections. There is no need for them to shy away from a splash of colour on the eyes and cheeks, but the trick is learning the correct placement and blending. So, I guess what I’m saying is, this is where I come in. I offer makeup tutorials either one-on-one or in a group session, giving young people the confidence and knowledge in technique application of basic skincare and makeup that will set them on a steady course to success in looking age appropriate whilst still feeling fabulous.
